Every audit event is SHA-256 hashed and cryptographically chained to the previous record — tampering with any single entry breaks the entire chain and is immediately detectable. Data is stored in AES-256 encrypted PostgreSQL, with TLS 1.3 in transit. Credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed (cost 12) and never stored in plaintext. By default data resides in EU-West (London/Ireland). Enterprise customers can request custom data residency.

Yes. Every audit event carries an RS256 asymmetric digital signature using your organisation's key pair. Your regulator can verify each record's authenticity and integrity using the public key alone, without needing access to Audital systems. This is critical for maintaining irrefutability in enforcement proceedings.

You own all your audit records. On cancellation, you receive a complete data export of all records in machine-readable JSON and signed PDF formats. Records are retained for 7 years by default (FCA requirement) or per your contractual agreement, after which they are securely deleted. We never lock you into proprietary formats.
Yes. Audital enforces multi-factor authentication for all user accounts using TOTP (Time-based One-Time Passwords), compatible with Google Authenticator and Authy.
